Job Description EMPLOYER: DST Technologies, Inc. JOB TITLE: Senior Software Engineer LOCATION: Kansas City, MO DUTIES: Analyze, design, program, and modify software enhancements and new products used in local, networked, cloud-based, or Internet-related computer programs. Interact with users to define system requirements and necessary modifications and provide an escalation point for client software development and support issues. Implement new features and remediate bugs on client-facing applications. Implement industry-wide best practices in fluid, mobile-first responsive design. Lead Agile scrum ceremonies, including daily stand ups, story pointing, and sprint reviews, among other tasks. Work closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts and Quality Assurance staff throughout the software development lifecycle. Responsible for project estimates, and leading sprint reviews with stakeholders. Keep current on technical documentation for new front-end technologies and communicate an understanding to leadership. Perform work on proof-of-concept projects to validate proposed solutions. Design solutions and lead development projects. Mentor and coach less experienced developers. Work closely with business teams to design effective technical solutions for business needs. Work with BA and QA to create and implement automated BDD tests. Assist architects in the definition of standards and patterns for the development teams to follow. Present solutions to Client and Business Stakeholders. Explore new technologies to determine the appropriate implementation patterns. Ensure the ongoing scalability, security, and maintainability of products. Define technical requirements for new development, which includes developing new and modifying existing code. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or Information Science and four years of experience in the job offered or four years of experience in the related occupations of Software Engineer, Software Developer, Software Engineering Intern or equivalent using tools such Java, Junit, and JEE technologies, C , Nifi, Spring, Angular, Micro services Development, Python, Database tools both Relational and NoSQL databases, DB2, SQL/Server, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, and MongoDB. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or Information Science and four years of experience in the job offered or related occupations of Software Engineer, Software Developer, Software Engineering Intern or equivalent using the above skills, employer will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or Information Science and two years of experience in the job offered or related occupations of Software Engineer, Software Developer, Software Engineering Intern or equivalent using the above skills.
